Surah Az Zalzalah In Arabic
إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا
وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا
وَقَالَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا لَهَا
يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا
بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا
يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ
فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ
وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ

| Arabic: وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا |
| Transliteration: Wa akh rajatil ardu athqaalaha |
| English: And the earth discharges its burdens |

| Arabic: وَقَالَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا لَهَا |
| Transliteration: Wa qaalal insaanu ma laha |
| English: And man says, “What is wrong with it?” |

| Arabic: يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا |
| Transliteration: Yawmaa izin tuhaddithu akhbaaraha |
| English: That Day, it will report its news |
| Ayah 5 |
| Arabic: بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا |
| Transliteration: Bi-anna rabbaka awhaa laha |
| English: Because your Lord inspired it |
| Ayah 6 |
| Arabic: يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ |
| Transliteration: Yawma iziny yas durun naasu ash tatal liyuraw a’maalahum |
| English: That Day, the people will depart separated to be shown their deeds |

| Arabic: فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ |
| Transliteration: Famaiy ya’mal mithqala zarratin khai raiy-yarah |
| English: So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it |

| Arabic: وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ |
| Transliteration: Wa maiy-y’amal mithqala zarratin sharraiy-yarah |
| English: And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it |

1. When the earth is shaken with its final earthquake,
2. And the earth discharges its burdens,
3. And man says, “What is wrong with it?”
4. That Day, it will report its news,
5. Because your Lord inspired it.
6. That Day, the people will depart separated to be shown their deeds.
7. So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it,
8. And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.

Tafseer Ibn Kathir (Summary)
This Surah explains the events of the Day of Judgment when the earth will experience a violent earthquake. Ibn Kathir states that the earth will throw out whatever is inside it bodies, treasures, and records. The earth will speak, testifying about everything humans did on it. Allah will command it to reveal all hidden actions.
People will rise from their graves in different groups depending on their deeds. Every person will be shown what they earned good or bad. Ibn Kathir emphasizes that even the smallest deeds carry weight and will appear on the Day of Judgment. This Surah teaches mindfulness, accountability, and awareness of Allah’s perfect justice.
