Tafseer (Ibn Kathir Summary)
Surah Al-Ikhlas clearly defines the concept of Tawheed. Ibn Kathir explains that this Surah rejects all forms of shirk by affirming Allah’s absolute oneness, self-sufficiency, and uniqueness. It denies lineage, offspring, or equality with any creation. Due to its powerful meaning, the Prophet ﷺ said that it equals one-third of the Qur’an in reward.
