Tafseer (Ibn Kathir Summary)
Surah Al-Asr is one of the most comprehensive Surahs of the Qur’an. Imam Shafi’i said that if people reflected only on this Surah, it would be enough for their guidance. Allah swears by time to emphasize the reality that humans are constantly losing their lives, except those who protect themselves through four qualities: faith, good deeds, speaking the truth, and being patient. These four principles define true success in this world and the next.
