Ayah 1
Arabic: إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انفَطَرَتْ
Transliteration: Izas samaa’u infatarat
Translation: When the sky breaks apart
Ayah 2
Arabic: وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ
Transliteration: Wa izal kawaakibu intatharat
Translation: And when the stars fall, scattering
Ayah 3
Arabic: وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ
Transliteration: Wa izal bihaaru fujjirat
Translation: And when the seas are erupted
Ayah 4
Arabic: وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ
Transliteration: Wa izal qubooru bu’thirat
Translation: And when the graves are turned upside down
Ayah 5
Arabic: عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ
Transliteration: ‘Alimat nafsum maa qaddamat wa akhkharat
Translation: A soul will know what it has put forth and kept back

Arabic: يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ
Transliteration: Yaa ayyuhal insaanu maa gharraka birabbikal kareem
Translation: O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord
Ayah 7
Arabic: الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
Transliteration: Allazee khalaqaka fasawwaaka fa‘adalak
Translation: Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you
Ayah 8
Arabic: فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ
Transliteration: Fee ayyi sooratin maa shaa’a rakkabak
Translation: In whatever form He willed has He assembled you
Ayah 9
Arabic: كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ
Transliteration: Kallaa bal tukazziboona bid-deen
Translation: No! But you deny the Recompense
Ayah 10
Arabic: وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ
Transliteration: Wa inna ‘alaikum lahaafizeen
Translation: And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers
Ayah 11
Arabic: كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ
Transliteration: Kiraaman kaatibeen
Translation: Noble and recording

Arabic: يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
Transliteration: Ya‘lamoona maa taf‘aloon
Translation: They know whatever you do

Arabic: إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ
Transliteration: Innal abraara lafee na‘eem
Translation: Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure
Ayah 14
Arabic: وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ
Transliteration: Wa innal fujjaara lafee jaheem
Translation: And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire
Ayah 15
Arabic: يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ
Transliteration: Yaslawna haa yawma ad-deen
Translation: They will enter to burn therein on the Day of Recompense
Ayah 16
Arabic: وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ
Transliteration: Wa maa hum ‘anhaa bighaa’ibeena
Translation: And never therefrom will they be absent

Arabic: وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
Transliteration: Wa maa adraaka maa yawmu ad-deen
Translation: And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

Arabic: ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
Transliteration: Thumma maa adraaka maa yawmu ad-deen
Translation: Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
Ayah 19
Arabic: يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ
Transliteration: Yawma laa tamliku nafsun linafsin shai’an wal amru yawma’izin lillaah
Translation: It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul any power, and the command that Day is entirely with Allah
