| Qul a‘oodhu bi rabbin-naas |
| Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, |
| مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ﴿٢﴾ |
| Malikin-naas |
| The Sovereign of mankind, |
| إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ ﴿٣﴾ |
| Ilaahin-naas |
| The God of mankind, |
| مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ﴿٤﴾ |
| Min sharril-waswaasil-khannaas |
| From the evil of the retreating whisperer – |
| الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ﴿٥﴾ |
| Alladhee yuwaswisu fee sudoorin-naas |
| Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind – |
| مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ ﴿٦﴾ |
| Minal-jinnati wan-naas |
| From among the jinn and mankind. |

(3) The God of mankind,
(4) From the evil of the retreating whisperer –
(5) Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind –
